There’s something special about a wedding day that feels completely relaxed from start to finish — and Becky & Josh’s wedding at DV Cider in the Macedon Ranges was exactly that.
As a Melbourne wedding photographer, these are the kinds of weddings I absolutely love photographing. Genuine moments, lots of laughter, beautiful scenery, and a couple who were completely present with their family and friends all day long.
From getting ready at Hidden Valley Resort through to dancing under the lights at DV Cider, Becky & Josh’s wedding was packed with incredible moments and one of the best country wedding atmospheres you could ask for.
Getting Ready at Hidden Valley Resort
Both Becky and Josh spent the morning getting ready at Hidden Valley Resort surrounded by their bridal party and closest family members. The relaxed atmosphere made for the perfect start to the day, with plenty of laughs, champagne, music, and excitement building as the ceremony drew closer.
One of the best things about photographing weddings in the Macedon Ranges is how close everything feels to nature. Even before arriving at the venue, the rolling countryside around Hidden Valley set the tone for what was going to be an unforgettable wedding day.
As a Melbourne wedding photographer, I’m always looking for those natural in-between moments — the reactions, the nerves, the laughter between friends — and the morning preparations delivered so many of them.
A Stunning Ceremony at DV Cider
Nestled amongst rolling hills and apple orchards, DV Cider has quickly become one of the most unique wedding venues in the Macedon Ranges. The venue combines rustic charm with incredible scenery, creating the perfect backdrop for couples wanting a relaxed country wedding without being too far from Melbourne.
Becky & Josh exchanged vows surrounded by friends, family, and the beautiful orchard views that make DV Cider so well known. The ceremony had the perfect mix of emotion and laughter, and you could feel how excited everyone was to celebrate these two.
The golden countryside, open skies, and rustic atmosphere made every moment feel effortlessly cinematic.
Exploring the Orchards & Sunset Portraits
After the ceremony, we explored the grounds around DV Cider for bridal portraits, and honestly — this venue is a dream for wedding photography.
From the apple orchards to the rolling hills and open paddocks, there are endless photo opportunities throughout the property.
One of my favourite parts of the day was heading out for sunset portraits with Becky & Josh as the light dropped over the Macedon Ranges. The warm golden tones across the orchards created the perfect backdrop, and the two of them were completely in the moment together.
These are always the photos couples end up loving the most — relaxed, natural, and completely authentic.
Reception Celebrations at DV Cider
The reception inside DV Cider’s marquee space was the perfect continuation of the day — fun, energetic, and packed with personality.
The speeches had everyone laughing one minute and emotional the next, and once the dance floor opened up, it stayed busy all night long.
DV Cider has become such a popular Macedon Ranges wedding venue because it creates that perfect balance between rustic country charm and an incredible party atmosphere. With its orchard surroundings, cider house vibes, and relaxed feel, it’s easy to see why so many couples are choosing to celebrate here.
