There’s something incredibly special about capturing a wedding that’s equal parts elegant, emotional, and uniquely personal—and Sharah & Arnaud’s big day was all of that and more. As a Melbourne wedding photographer, moments like these are what I live for: authentic connection, timeless backdrops, and a couple truly in love.

Their wedding journey took us across some of Melbourne’s most charming venues—from getting ready at The Oaks in Lilydale, to a touching ceremony at St Patrick’s Church, and finally an unforgettable reception at the rustic, romantic Chateau Wyuna.

Getting Ready at The Oaks, Lilydale

Both Sharah and Arnaud started their wedding day surrounded by calm and love at The Oaks, nestled in the leafy hills of Lilydale. Sharah was tucked away in the 3-bedroom Sage Cottage, prepping with her bridesmaids. Meanwhile, Arnaud had a quirky setup: he got ready inside an old W-Class tram, lovingly converted into accommodation. It was a nod to Melbourne’s heritage and the perfect setting for some fun, candid groom portraits.

The quiet anticipation built throughout the morning, but one of the most moving moments came just before the ceremony...

First Touch: A Private Vow Exchange

Without seeing each other, Sharah and Arnaud met for a 'first touch'—standing back to back, holding hands and reading their vows privately. The raw emotion of two people committing their lives to one another was palpable. As a respected Melbourne wedding photographer, these fleeting, deeply emotional moments matter most—and it was an honour to capture it from a respectful distance.

Ceremony at St Patrick’s Church, Lilydale

St Patrick’s Church in Lilydale was the perfect setting for the couple’s heartfelt ceremony. With its stained-glass windows and warm timber interiors, the church brought a sacred and timeless feel to the day. Surrounded by friends and family, Sharah walked down the aisle with grace, and Arnaud’s face said it all—pure awe and love.

The couple exchanged rings and kissed to the sound of applause and live violin music echoing through the church’s historic walls.

Reception at Chateau Wyuna

After the ceremony, we headed to Chateau Wyuna, one of the most iconic venues for Melbourne wedding photography. Set in the lush Dandenong Ranges, this historic venue blends rustic charm with romantic elegance.

As guests gathered for the celebration, Sharah and Arnaud kicked off the evening with a champagne tower pour—a glamorous, sparkling moment that truly set the tone for the night. It was a scene straight out of a vintage dream, with the couple grinning from ear to ear as the champagne cascaded from coupe to coupe.

The reception room, with its timber beams and twinkling lights, came alive with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt speeches. Chateau Wyuna's beautifully landscaped gardens offered the perfect backdrop for sunset portraits and candid moments throughout the evening.

As the night drew to a close, Sharah and Arnaud wanted one last epic memory—and they nailed it. We stepped outside for a nighttime champagne spray, and the result was electric. Popping a bottle under the stars, surrounded by cheers and a sprinkle of golden light, it was the perfect finale to an unforgettable day.

From start to finish, their wedding was filled with intention, joy, and timeless beauty—an absolute dream to capture.

Final Thoughts

Sharah & Arnaud’s wedding was a perfect reflection of their love—romantic, joyful, and deeply meaningful. From their quiet first touch to their vibrant Chateau Wyuna reception, every detail told their story with heart.
